I'm a SRAM boy had x9 on my enduro and once you get used to it the changing is a lot snappier
All done now just indexing but with 2and 4 year old helpers will have to wait

Shifting has been sloppy and some how the cable outer looks deformed. New outer and inner is the plan. Is it hard I've heard bad things about cable changing on these |

Best thing to do: swap it for a shimano setup. I had a x9 setup on my trek and had constant problems with it. Swapped back to my favourite shimano xt combo and had been faultless for nearly a year now. However if you decide to keep it, changing inner and outer cables is fairly simple, you just need some strong sharp cable cuters really. |

I've run x9 for ages and its been sound. easy to set up and index its all about taking it one step at a time. set your high and low stops then set the cable in the low position with the barrel adjuster in the middle of its travel then tweak the adjuster to fine tune pretty easy. any other issues will be chain or cog wear |

Cheers large it was the fact the boys would not stop pissing about in the garage.all done I was hoping to hook the cables back up and off I go. I think the white outer had become rusty on the inside |

Cable was cool but changed it anywaY and a really simple job to do maybe it was the model between o6 my enduro and 2011 my current ones that are a problem.should I put a little grease in the cable guide hole ? SRAM has mostly been fit and forget for me. I would like to change my avid brakes for Hayes as they are truly fit and forget. |
