Hi all,

So for the last few years I have been getting more and more into mountain biking and have now got to the stage where my 6 year old Cross full suspension mountain bike needs replacing. It has serve me well but the suspension is shot, cable disc brakes and the rear swinging arm has already had be welded once....you get the idea!

Anyway, I have £2K to spend on something new and wanted some friendly advice. The type of riding I have been doing is a mix between local XC hacks, Jump/Downhill stuff like Danbury and more recently bike parks such as chicksands. I'm also planning to go to Wales this summer for some single track and downhill action :D

From my research my current favourite choice would be this - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=75657 as it seems to be fairly universal.

Is there a better option or do you think the Mega AM Pro is a good choice for a mixed bag of riding?

Thanks,

James

I have looked at the YT bikes and they do seem great value for money, though it's the local (UK) support that puts me off slightly. Thanks for the feedback either way

Yeah - actually spent some time on their stand at the recent London Bike Show. Really liked both the Strive and the Torque EX and they had the advantage of a local UK support centre.

The thing swinging me towards the Nukeproof is the equipment level and CRC being the supplier - though I'm very interested in what people think would be the best suited bike for my needs.

To be honest I haven't seen much 2nd hand for that kind of money that comes close to the spec of the Nukeproof.

Or buy frame and build it up yourself with your choice of components.

Wouldn't be able to build anything near the nukeproof for 2k. I would go for it. I absolutely love them. Lapierre spicys are decent, and look at nd bikes as well. The soda air looks very nice, unsure on price though.

Thanks Tom - It sounds like you are on the same trail of thought as me! Maybe I should start hunting CRC discounts codes

Go for the mega it's a hell of a bike. I would try to buy through a dealer though. Most can price match crc. Where are you based?
