Don't do things by half mate ;)

Almost - The Element is great for xc but is very large and I've wanted something a little smaller and playful. I like the Genius but can't afford a new one and this is almost there and seems to be a good speck and price.

Feedback though - not wise arse comments

Then the spark doesn't strike me as a "playful" bike tbh
what intend on using it for?

Second bike... lol

Was over Surry Hill on Sunday on my Rocky Mountain.

It's a 29er and great for xc stuff but the small amount of travel and shear size of the bike meant it wasn't too happy with the faster more difficult downhill bits.

I've also got an ancient Decathlon RockRider 6.2 that is a 26" bike, again short travel but it is physically smaller and so when throwing it around was more playfull.

The Spark is still and xc bike but has a little more travel than the Rocky Mountain, is a much smaller bike.

Could just be me trying to convince myself? I'm going to pop over there tomorrow to kick the tyres and see.

Something with much bigger travel would be best I guess but I rode a Zesty with 160mm and hated it...

What about an intense tracer 2? Stiffer than a SC blur lt or a transition bandit 650b??

Get a 140mm trail bike mate - the spark is a xc race sled and they are never 'playfull'

I wouldn't dismiss all 160mm bikes out of hand set up can have a hell of a lot to do with it.

i think you would be better off on something like a specialized Pitch 150mm travel pedals well and has a good aggressive geo for dh stuff

I agree with Jon, The Spark is a fantastic "Race" bike, you wouldnt be gaining much over the RM.
I loved my Genius's but again i wouldnt put them in the "play" catagory.

What about a 456? or does it have to be Full suss?

Use mine next time we're out, see what you feel about for size and travel?

Hmm, the thing is I'm without a bike until I can get my RM fixed and that's not looking hopeful right now :(

The problem being that I don't want to simply waste my cash - it's going to have to be a bargain and I'm not fussed if it's not new... just has to not look like a dog!

I mainly ride XC so it kide of makes sense to me but the feedback on this puppy is putting me off...
