Post subject:  Frame build pivot bearings question

Ok so i had my frame powder coated and i bought all new pivot kit including bearings, cap bolts and some washers but it was ages ago i took them out and cant remember the if the washers sit under the cap bolts (they're a bit of a loose fit to do this imho or if they fit in the frame recess behind the bearing, which is a nice fit for them, this would mean the bolts just do up against the bearing face ? Also the lower pivot seems a poor (loose) fit from the chainstay to the front triangle, perhaps this should have some washers in it ? AARRRGGGHHHHHHHH

anyone built a frame up or tore one down and have any clues ? otherwise i'll go with my gut instinct and washer everywhere there is the potential for play !

On my frame i tore down yesterday for powder coating the washers sat on the inside with plastic washer things around them where two frame parts meet

Whitty, i've kind of gone for the same, used the nylon washers in the main pivot against the frame then some anodised ally ones then the bearing and naff all on the outside, the dogbone bearings have only the anodised ones on the inside against the frame although the upper spindle is about 3mm too short so i had to back the bolts off and even them up so they're in the same amount of turns give or take.

The bearing and pivot kit that has been supplied i dont think is exact for the bike, i have enough parts, in fact i have too many, i think it may be a one kit fits many type of deal ? but i've had to use old nylon washers from the previous build as new ones aren't supplied.
