Thanks for all the good tips. I did not have enough time to source the bag and tube foam for this trip so the bike will travel without one and hopefully will arrive as one piece surviving 2000 miles in a lorry :)

Bit late but you can hire hard\soft bike bags, I'v seen bike shop at Billericay

It seems to have extra support for the bottom bracket and fork padding which the CRC bag is lacking (at least I can't see on the photos) and is marginally more expensive.



Has anyone bought one of these Ultix bags?

Think I'm going to order one, 1/4 of the price of the EVOC bag just hope it's good quality

Didn't get one in the end mate, going to use a bike box instead.
