I've a XT M780 chainset: I need a new outer chainring as it's currently sharp enough to cut stone... Thing is I can only seem to find outer chainrings for the M770 and that looks like the arms are a different design: It could just be an optical thing - does anybody know or have any experience? Then given that I have the M780 - does anybody have any alternative suggestions to the Shimano chainring that is £50+? David |

Same BCD 104. The holes are in the same place and would be interchangeable. I have a spare 36 t ring with a pin missing. U could borrow to line it up if u wanted to check. |

Thanks Ade, I managed to get a 780 42t ring on ebay so it will still look the same... |

Ones 10spd, the other is 9spd.... Chain ring will be slightly thicker, but dont think you'll have a problem. |

Nah, 770 comes 9 or 10 speed mate. Got a 780 in the end anyway so the Corratec should be able to cope with the big ring |
