I finally got round to buying a voltage after much procrastination all seemed ok on the test ride but when I got it home I noticed quite a loud plasticy popping/cracking noise when I peddle hard it seems to be more when I put full weight on the cracks. Its not happening on every rotation in fact i'm not even sure the cranks are the problem.

When I track stand and bounce the rear shock and joints are all ok.

Anyone every had a similar problem or have any ideas what it might be ?

Without seeing it i could not fully say but i a lot of the guys run voltages and they are for ever haveing to tighter up on the bolts on the linkage. Other than that, check the bottom bracket (remove cranks and check for play)

Iv had this with mine and what matt was saying with tighting the linkags bolts is what i done, but i tighten them to the torque setting worth getting a cheap torque wrench,i also took the bolts out and put a little bit of grease on the bearings & washers seems to haved work.
What voltage did you get mate?

Cheers guys, do you think it will do any harm taking it out until I get a torque wrench ?, I'm gagging to give it a test ride lol

I got a 2011 fr30 it's a short and I really wanted a long but the price was good and it wasn't far away so I'll see if I like it if not ill sell it and try and get a long.

I've never had to do any of the pivot bolts up but saying that I've had some strange noises come from mine. I took the cranks off, cleaned them and regreased and it went away but I've bought new bearings for the BB as they felt shot and my chainguide roller has seen better days and they could both have been making the noise.

When I first got mine I had a knocking noise and it turned out the chainguide a stock fitted one was hitting the chainstay on compression, so I cut a piece off and it fixed it.

Mine started to make a really annoying noise... What would it be? Bearings?

Mine was / is the pivot bearings I got rid of most of the noise by taking the covers off and packing the bearings with greece but I'll have to have em changed at some point also worth checking all the pivot blots with a tourque wrench

I didn't manage to take off the drive side cover, how did you take it off? The bearings seem to be sealed, are yours opened?

Just smash in new bearings :) .. i did it on my gambler every year and i think that shares its bearings with the voltage. It wasn't too hard.. bearings off ebay did the trick.

there are enough of you on here with voltages u should get together and have a beer and bearings evening where you sort them all out in one go!

Good idea Jon! Get all the noisy Voltage owners and have a get together! Was it easy to change them?

Have you got a bearing puller Jon ? If so which one ? If not how did you remove them ?

Deco, I just popped the cover off with the tip of a Stanley blade
