Just asked the missies for one for my bday and was told to get one. 27.2 seat post so limited options and these look mechanically simples. Any thoughts before I get one off eBay |

The new 456 has a 30.9 seat tube so I'm considering that. More dropper post options then! Think someone else on here mentioned having a T-Mars off Ebay. |

Since I've had kids and started to my degree I've sold my old hardtail and beloved spesh enduro (more money than sense before) Loved building my own bike on a budget though and the 456 is awsome but in carbon would be even better Need is always better than want |

Well there may be a new carbon 456 on the way for us so there's hope yet! |

Stick with a 27.2 as you can shim it out to fit any sized frame. Buy to last! Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 4 |

Any thoughts before I get one off eBay I've got one off ebay and it has been completely trouble free. The only issues i had is that in fully extended position is a about half an inch too high for my liking but this is frame dependant and you have to replace the original cable which is a bit too thin with better one. Make sure if you decide to get one to be with the small black box housing the cable.I think its advertised as 2014 model. The guy who sells them is actually manufacturing them in taiwan. Do not get the older ones as they have flaws. If you want i can post some pics Peter |

I just looked at T-Mars on Ebay and saw an I.C.E V8 dropper the same as i have ??? just rebranded, I.C.E is a French company but very helpfull, anyone got a link to the supplier of T-Mars on ebay i would like to see the difference between 2012 (mine) and 2014 ? i know the cable is thicker as they sent me a replacement for free when i enquired about getting one, i didnt need on so i have a spare ! The seats tend to twist a fair bit on them but its not an issue when riding, you don't notice it, In the box you get replacement shim things this may resolve the wobble but as they're plastic i'm hanging on till its stupid before i replace, at present its about 10mm of movement. The I.C.E posts come with a shim for 30.9 frames in the box. If you dont remove it and strip it down and clean it all out it gets crap, it wont respond to the lever or it will have a life of its own an drop on its own when sitting, or will pop up on its own if you stand and its on a lower setting. PeterFB if its too high on full lift you have two options: 1) drill a new hole about 1" down from the top hole in the inner post so effectively you have 4 stops. 2) cut your seat tube in the frame down if it there is enough to trim above the top tube, i did this on my Alpine, then remember to drill and hole and slot down to it exactly the same as the part you're removing so the clamp functions correctly and the frame wont crack. |

I don't have a proper drill press to do it. I got used to it now and actually makes me climb better. I just lowered the post as much as possible in the frame unityjon wrote: i just looked at T-Mars on Ebay and saw an I.C.E V8 dropper the same as i have ??? just rebranded, I.C.E is a French company but very helpfull, anyone got a link to the supplier of T-Mars on ebay i would like to see the difference between 2012 (mine) and 2014 ? i know the cable is thicker as they sent me a replacement for free when i enquired about getting one, i didnt need on so i have a spare !
