Once cleaned up after each use I put my camelbak in the freezer... (after its dried out a bit) never had any bad after taste and still works a treat..

I just rinse mine out with water after each ride and hang it opened up in the garage to dry, it still looks like new ?

I hate to tell you but sticking bacteria in the freezer does bugger all. All it does is stop the bacteria replicating only heat above 60C and ideally 75C truly kills bacteria.

If you have a truly clean sterile pack then putting it in would help prevent recontamination. If you part fill the bladder with a Milton solution and then run it through the pipe you can leave the pipe with some in for an hour or 2. This should clean it up nicely.

Hi all.
I have just been turned off getting a bladder bag. I think I will stick to bottle and throw away after I have used them a few times.
Good discussion -maybe a throw away blader (cheap ) like a tesco bag would be a good seller.

They are no more trouble than cleaning a bottle as long as you don't leave sticky squash or energy drink in them. All I do when I get home is give it a good rinse out then part fill and allow this to flow through the pipe. I then make sure there is nothing left in the pipe and put a couple of bits of plastic pipe in the bladder to hold it open so it can dry. Every now and then I fill it with a Milton solution for a few hours.

Hi ,
I was looking to get one as they have to be better than a sack bag.
It was the lump bits that turned me off and the cleaning process ( I want to ride me bike not spend all day cleaning my bike cleaning my bladder then cleaning the water bag and then after doing some of the jumps you gentsare doing my clothes (under ) etc . )
Still think athrow away is a good idea and as long as cheap and in a pack would sell well.
