Hi all

I am trying to decide between the stumpjumper carbon expert evo and the enduro.

I am looking to mainly ride trail centres trails like Afan, coed y brenin etc and enter the odd gravity enduro.

Is the stump up to gravity enduros and bit of DH like Aston hill?

I can't get a demo bike as availabity of bikes is low so no demos.

Which of these bike would be better?

Many thanks

There are far better bikes out there for the money mate. Specializeds are always well over priced.....

I would go for the enduro, answers in the name. But then again, if you can get away with riding the shorter travel stumpy well, you'll probably be quicker, I found my 170mm trek too much for the gravity enduro's this year, would have been quicker on a 140mm trail bike.

Agree with the above really brands like Specialized and SantaCruz are normally pretty over priced due to the name. Out of the ones you have mentioned though I would go for the Enduro. Have you thought about a Lapierre Zesty or the new 27.5 Nukeproof mega?

Or if your spending that money, get a santa cruz bronson, over priced as per above, but a lovely bike, and Bryceland rips on it, so looks like it could do anything.

Take a look at Canyon's, The YT as per above, Nukeproof, Transition, theres a lovely new Pivot Mach 6 (I think), Lapierre Spicy, Rose, the new Enduro Cube looks awesome, Banshee, New Scotts looking nice, and the commencal on this link:

is one of the most beautiful bikes I've come across.

a lot more out there than specialized.

Also, if you are spending that much on a bike, you could pick up a DH bike and a decent enduro bike

Have you set a budget?

From riding with lots of different people and riding all the different places you have mentioned you will be hard pushed to get one bike that you are fully happy to do everything, I should know, i'm rocking just the one bike as well. I've got a commencal meta am2, defiantly worth a look but if you are after a more hard core trail bike/endure machine look at the meta sx. anymore than 170mm travel bike and it will be a pig to get up the climbs at a reasonable pace.

Thanks all for advice so far I will research into bikes mentioned.

My budget is around £4500 to 5000 but will be getting on 0% so rules out canyon and YT unless get a loan

I should say I have DH bike and HT trail bike already so I guess I want it for all day trail centre and gravity enduro.

I have looked at Bronson but even more expensive then specialized and would have to get much lower spec.

Right back to the research lol

If you want a bargain look at the canyons, 1 x 11 gear set as well as all the usual endure/all mountain rigs. Think Jon that runs the site had one on demo.
