Black sharks have good puncture protection, and you can get them for real bargain. Good for mud.

Yeah they have some good reviews but they are only for muddy conditions, I'm after an all rounder.
Thanks though.

If u after tyre for dry condition I can recommend Maxxis Ikon, they super fast! As all rounder for mix of wet and dry I use high roller II 2.35 front and Maxxis ardent 2.2 rear. Running them on Stan's tubeless kit and had no punctures since.

Hi,
I went off rubber queen 2.4 as the wall seem to go with plenty of tread on them .
Went to Mountain kings 2.4 - bad luck / experience seem to get thorns and punctures regularly when I did not need them.
So have put rubber queen back on the rear again and I am so happy do not know why I changed .
They run so well 14.99 cheap but wish they lasted longer .
Chilly tyres did not understand presume they are thicker tyre but cost more.

Love the grip and rolling of the queen thinking of going down to 2.2 at the rear next time though.

I've just fitted Schwalbe Hans Dampf 2.35 front and Nobby Nic rear 2.25 both setup tubeless running 25-30psi,
Only my first ride at Epping and mostly dry..!!
So far I'm pleased with them...

Bontrager XR Mud Tyre Tubeless Ready 26 X 1.8 on the rear and 2.0 on the front. They slip on roots but have awesome mud shedding abilities. They are not cheap though but have lasted me. Nobby Nic would be my second choice.

Well 30psi is waaaaay too hard so now running between 18-22psi..
Might give the new Schwalbe Rock Razor ago on the rear...

Be careful at that low you may roll the tyre off the rim, but you may be a lot lighter than me and depending how hard you corner. I won't go below 25 now.

Its a personal preference thing i guess. I personally hate having the side wall move around alot when cornering, so i just experiment with it until im happy. I like to have low rolling resistance too, so 30-ish is about right for me. But i run higher (40 PSI)in my Maxxis Beavers for the mud.

Its just whatever you like really, just be careful not to go too low as VW said, but 20 odd is still okay, unless you corner properly hard, in which case you will feel the tyre (particularly rear) try and pull itself off the rim, as i have found.

A few years ago when new to tubeless I burped a front tyre off in a brass monkeys race through a bomb hole, Stans jizz went everywhere lol

I'm a fan of nobby nics, had them on the stumpy for ages. Changed to a pitch now that came with the specialized tyres on and was washing out the front end all the time. Have put a high roller two Xc jobby on and front end confidence is high, wouldn't change it.

Default tyres on the 26" hardtail were mountain kings race sport 2.2 with black chilly compound, more grippy. When dry I put Racing Ralphs at the rear. For muddy conditions bonty mud x 2.0 tubeless front and rear. Never tried 1.8 size

Now, in the 650b size hardtail I have X Kings front and race kings rear in racesport 2.2 version. They are fantastic for me, low pressure, grippy, fast...I'll use them until I can't cope with muddy conditions.
