Ok, so I've split the steerer tube on my Van's.

Not sure how! I can only presume I must have over tightened the stem at some stage or another.

Anyhow, I'm looking for ideas on what can be done.

1. Welding - anyone tried it?
2. Replace steerer and stanchions - Forks are to old to justify £200 for new upper assembly
3. Cry in the corner cause I'm gonna have to to buy an air fork!

Any other suggestion or advice?
