Post subject:  Suggestions for new bike/build

Hello fellow bikers!

I'm after some advice. This is my first post, as I only really use this site for the buy/sell and to snoop Big Grin .

Anyway, I have been 'upgrading' my current bike, a DDG Shooter, for the last few years and I feel I need a change. I have recently added the DMR SS kit which I love at the moment.

The type of riding I do is very mixed, from trail riding to dirt jumping, gentle bike rides to cycling to work etc. I'm 6ft 2" so I am looking for a 26er, 24er's are too small for me. I wish to continue riding single speed due to the ease and low maintenance (lazy sod I know)

Has anyone got any recommendations for a bike that may possibly tick all the boxes, or even a frame to build from.

As for a budget. I am looking to spend around £400-500 however if I need to add a few more pennies I will.

Any feedback is much appreciated. Look forward to it!

Thanks in advance.

Frazer

Cheers,

Yeah it was my first proper bike - 11 years ago when I was 13!! lol Saved all my paper round money for it. Just think its time for a change.

I have read what other people have and a lot seem to be the Transitions, Identitis, Dartmoors & Dmr's.

Ill look into the hornet though. Although i'm not sure what to look for in a bike for my needs. The geometry side of things completely confuse me as well

I'd say it would be good to check out what others are riding at the same spots you do.

Its tricky for us lanky beans to buy a bike that can trail ride with a low enough standover to jump well.

Is the budget secondhand or new?

Well i like the idea of new but i don't mind secondhand - at the end of the day jumping will more than likely mean the bike will get abused a bit so wont stay new for a while

Secondhand will get you a set of forks and a frame for that money.
Something with Uturn would be ideal to make it versatile
