The last thing you want to do with dirty muddy tyres is change tubes etc..

At the moment my bike is currently running on some pretty poor standard tyres. I'm look to get some winter tyres but after looking at hundreds of reviews I still cant decide which brand/model to go for. I was just wondering what tyres you guys are running on and what you would recommend to me, I plan on doing most of my riding over Epping this winter and I am a bit wary about going tubeless as I prefer the idea of just being able to change an inner tube while out on the trails. |

At the moment I have some non branded ones that came with the bike that are a 26x1.95. |

I'd suggest few tyres: bontrager mud x, maxxis swampthing, , continental mud king, specialized storm control for really mud conditions or more all round schwalbe dirty dan, schwalbe nobby nic, maxxi beaver, specialized purgatory. I'd also suggest to fit a 2.0 or even a 1.8 if you're a light rider on the rear to cut through the mud and find traction. |

I've just fitted a Maxxis Beaver 29x2.00". Used already last two winter on serious mud. I'm running tubeless on ZTR crest rim but the NON tubeless tyre. the 60TPI one.

Just ordered a tubeless kit, getting sick of changing tubes and fixing punctures. Also just fitted a Maxxis swamp thing to the front and Schwalbe racing ralph to the rear, gonna see what they are like to ride (could be in the bin in a week or so) |

My original fitment Hutchinson Toros seemed really puncture resistent and OK in the dry but are proving really sketchy in the wet and mud recently. They're coming off now. Probably put some Bontrager Mud X on but was amazed how good Maxxis High Roller 2s were on a mates bike at Swinley in the wet, stoney, sandy trails there. |

I have run hans damps on my meta since buying the bike two years ago and have just put on a hans damp/nobby nick combo on the stache, the hans are a brilliant alrounder (as i'm too lazy to swop tyres) but they do tend to collect the mud if its very sticky (the type of situation when only a mud tyre would work). When clear or rolling quick enough to fling the mud, grip fine in winter. |

Did run Maxxis Medusa's last year which are very similar to beavers! Very good mud tyres! with great rolling resistance, cuts through the mud easy! could use all year round! This year sticking with my TrailKings 2.4's as cant be bothered to change over. |

Same as @mattvanders... Hans Dampf / Nobby Nic combo run tubeless work great  Was over Epping yesterday it was a sloppy in places but they gripped fine on roots and cleared mud just fine.. |

Make sure its pacestar front (soft) / trailstar rear (hard) compound to get the best grip/rollabity combo |

Stuck beavers front and back, 2.25 front and 2.0 rear, lots of grip and some decent comfort up front. |
