They are all 10 speed mech's. What is the main feature difference between them? Is it mainly materials ?

The X9 and X0 are type 2 mechs, allowing you to lock the arm in a forward position for maintenance, the XX10 is not type 2.

They are all available with medium cage lengths and are 11-36 compatible.

So what makes one better than the other?

Can't comment too much on the differences (think it is mainly the materials though) but having recently fitted an X9 Type 2 RD on my new build, I love it. Shifting does seem smoother and the lock's come in handy when fitting the chain....

As you say, materials and weight are what determine one being better than another.

I've not had the Type2 mech but I have had the standard X9 and I have to say it was nice at first but went down hill quickly... Shimano all the way now for shifting ;)

I have the X9 type 2 on my Enduro. Was considering what the X0 would give me in addition? Better shifting I would imagine?
The shifter is an X7, no idea why Spesh mix the X9 rear mech and an X7 shifter?

I'll be keeping my eye out for X0 mech and shifters on eBay.

X7, X9 and X0 are the same weight, only difference apart from looks is the X9 has the Pull lever ball bearing technology used in XX and X0 shifters, and the X0 has adjustable pull trigger. Might be more to it, but thats what a quick look on the SRAM site says. Oh and obviously there is a difference in price :D

The shifters make a bigger difference I swapped mine for x9 straight away. If you crash like me x9 works well and is cheaper to replace I'm on my second :(.
Spare mech hangers are handy also

I have X5 shifter with X9 T2 mech, shifting if nice and crisp, but the mech really don't like mud, well alot of mud at least. It gets worse and i blame that for the cable fault on the Ridgeway ride. I have a ZEE shifter and clutch mech on my other bike and that copes much better with a lot of mud. Roll on the summer.

The difference between x7 and x9 (and above) shifters is like night and day, well worth the extra cost. Not loads of weight saveing to be had but just crisper shifting all day long

Will the X0 shifter fit on an X7 bracket?
