Obviously i know how to change a BB, What i'm after is the type of bearings or code and supplier of GXP sized bearings.

My BB is starting to creak so rather than replacing the whole units, i was thinking of replacing just the bearings with a good quality possibly ceramic bearing set. They're only press fit so should be easy enough to change?

Anyone done it?

(Eccles i'm looking at you :shifty: )

Now that's what I'm talking about, repair kits and ceramics.

That is a great price for ceramic bearings, and the postage is good as well. I may have to invest in some.

GPX uses none standard bearings I believe (like Shimano XTR) to try and get you to buy the whole thing again. I believe they are 6804RS 20x32x7mm (the 7mm width is the tricky bit). The enduro ones use a shim I think to make their more standard size fit.
You'll either need something like a blind bearing puller or some careful use of a socket/punch/flat headed screw driver and hammer to get the old bearing out. I've used a headset press to get the new bearings in straight without applying pressure to the inner race.

Changing my bb tonight for a wheels manufacturing one and they have three bearing replacement options Enduro bearings have a 1yr grantee also. I'm fitting mine with my headset press enduro bearings and shim seem like a good option

Right dismantled all ready to be identified. Took one original sram one and one superstar one apart. Quite different for something that does the same job.

When I changed mine I noticed wear on the chain ring bolts from the stinger. It just showed how much play the drive side bearing had :)

The steel wheel manufacturing one with non ceramic bearings is super plush

There is a bearing place in Maldon. Essex bearings. They may well be able to help.
