I bought a carbon rim from light bicycles

and a dynamo front hub from shutter precision. PD 8X

I'm going for this AM rim and 2.4 tyres as a little help for using rigid forks. I'm racing the HTR 550 and terrain in the Highlands is rough. Still not 100%100 committed to rigid forks, though.

Now looking at different spokes I'm thinking of Sapim cx ray
http://www.sapim.be/spokes/aero/cx-ray

To determine the right length I'm using this link:
http://www.sapim.be/spoke-calculator

and data from
http://www.sp-dynamo.com/8X-pic/PD-8X-QR-02.pdf
http://www.light-bicycle.com/Hookless-c ... P7fEHysV8E

I've got all data right except where it asks for the number of crossings. Should it be 3? Reading info at Sheldon Brown website.
Read also that J bend spokes are better to repair. Would you recommend to send the rim and dynamo to a wheel builder and let them finish the job? How about Strada wheels?
Any other sugestion? Other spokes to consider?

Hub length (K)100mm
Non gear side (Ka) 26mm
Gear side (Kb) 19mm
Hub diameter gear side 66mm
Hub diameter non-gear side 60mm
Rim thickness 25mm
Internal diameter of rim 551mm
Number of spokes 32
Number of crossing gear side 3?
Number of crossing non gear side 3?

Thanks
J

3 cross is correct for your needs.
CX ray is VERY good choice of spoke ,both super strong and light in weight..
Go to a good wheel builder if you've not built wheels before, that way any problem it's down to them..

http://dcrwheels.co.uk Have a look here, he is very good and stocks Sapim spokes..

Dan at stanley bridge built my carbon rims with cx ray spokes, so he should have some experience for your build.

I am very happy with them too :)
