After riding the weekend it's clear the 36t is to big and I want to get a 32t or & a 34t As I said I'm running a 36t front and 9speed with a 40t on rear Do I need to change the chain when going to a 32 or 34 or can I keep the chain on there ?? |

No need to change the chain if its in good shape. |

Get a chain measuring tool (or borrow one, got one if needed) to check stretch/wear. If it's fine, can just shorten it and reattach with magic link |

You wont need to change the chain unless it is worn, but depending which front ring size you go for you may need to shorten it. Put your new ring on and try it before doing anything though mate. |

It's pretty much a new chain was fitted on last service and that was less then 50miles ago |

Get an Oval 32t up front then get both 32 and 34, it'll make a big difference. I rode surrey hills with a 36T front cog and the hills almost killed my legs, now have an oval 32t and did the Peak district fine |
