Hi people.. Just got a Garmin 500 the other week and am paranoid about the standard mount with glorified elastic bands Not sure if I want a stem mount or bar mount.. Any recomendations..?? |

As long as it's a new mount then the bands take a shit load of abuse... but saying that I have the cnc'd ones for my bikes now - mainly coz it puts them a little further up front and easier to see. |

Bit of glue washer lanyard should come out of mount. Lee 800 got knocked was quarter of a turn bit more fall out, lost for ever in Epping. Easy pick glue off should come to sell |

Have one of those out front garmin mounts (SRAM) type, and it stayed put during the riding I did in Yorkshire DH, so very stable |

The standard mount and bands should be fine on the stem, I used it like this for a while on the old bike without any problems at all. Now with a shorter stem I've got one of the Barfly mounts, bit expensive for what it is but I like the garmin back a bit from the front of the bike. |
