The tyres on my bike are Tioga Factory DH, being a good 9 years old they've seen better days, and with the front currently having a puncture I'm thinking of just replacing them as I wouldn't have to wrestle the blasted things back on.
Size wise 26x2.1 is probably ideal. 2.3 wide could fit, if they actually are 2.3, the Tiogas are actually 2.5 wide (claimed 2.3) and thus the rear has worn both paint and part of the frame away on the rear.

Would be used mainly for XC I guess, maybe venturing into All Mountain on occasion.

Are Maxxis Highrollers still the go to tyres as they were 5+ years ago when I was last seriously into bikes? Would like to get the bike rolling again and explore some of the XC at Danbury and Tunstall Forest sometime soon.

Budget, no more than £20 per tyre I think. No need for tubeless.

9 years? Wow!
Tyres are always going to be a bit of a personal preference but a good all rounder trail tyre you might want to look at is the Schwalbe Hans Dampf: http://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/schw ... /wg_id-241 £45 (currently) for a pair is pretty good. Nobby Nic's, Conti Trail Kings, Mountain King's etc. I don't believe there is tyre that fits all uses for everybody so you'll just have to try some of the popular ones out and fill your bike shed with spare tyres!

Interesting. Anywhere cheaper than CRC for them? Seems to be £60-£65 for the pair. Happy to go through Quidco for them too.

That is actually a decent price.

It's not like you go through them all that quickly

 Fair point!

Just maybe I'll get them changed in time to use it before christmas!

EDIT: Turns out the Highroller II is 2.4 wide, which is too wide to fit without rubbing on the frame. Can't be more than 2.3 or 2.2 realistically. Reviews on the Highroller XC aren't as good Any thoughts? Minion front and rear?

Thanks guys! Why can't they be named more suitably, too many subtle differences for my liking, looks like a good price too, so I'm sold. Had forgotten to look on wiggle too.
