So the time has come to buy a new bike after some unfortunate luck. I need to move away from the Voltage, 180mm even with a dropper isn't the way forward for me. I need some thing that is slack, has a long wheelbase, is light and can potentially climb well, internal gear routing, I think 140mm of travel will be enough and none of this silly 29inch wheels thanks, 650b is as far as I'll go. What is out there as I've had the same bike for 4 years and haven't kept up. |

I'm sure there are others, but for 140mm travel all I can think of right now without the aid of google is a Devinci Troy. That 140mm Orbea (must resist google!) one is pretty light for what it is and should climb ok................ depending on the condition of the engine  Neither are super slack though, what is slack to you? |

Pretty much every major bike company out there makes a tough 140mm travel full sus bike its just researching which one is best for you.someone on here may prefer one type of bike and you may prefer a completely different bike.also price comes into it alot as well |

A couple of my mates have the Banshee Spitfire and they are brilliant bikes. Fit the bill perfectly |

I'm not a massive fan but Nicolai Bikes are super long and slack - and more than that they'll tweek frame sizes to meet your needs if you don't like them off the shelf... http://www.nicolai-bicycles.com/en/ |

65 on a short travel bike is going to hinder climbing unless you have a super steep seat angle. Sub 160 bikes have settled on 66.5 - 67 for a head angle and having ridden a few im not sure going slacker would help. the longer reach on modern bikes does in part negate the need to go super slack these days. I have meta v4(160/150) and it climbs on par with my xc race bike mind the weight difference. I had voltage which I regrettably sold couple of weeks ago and I can tell you there is a quite big difference between the voltage and modern mid travel bikes you are looking at.The voltage is just meant to be pointed down and is very solidly built

Foxy r(?) model came with 160 up front so comes with65.5-66 head angle |
