Hey there guys, I'm looking at purchasing a Marzocchi 44 TST2 Air Fork - 29inch 2010 From Chainreation for £170 on sale. I want a all round 120+ travel fork. It appears that this is meant for a 29" wheel. Will it work on a 26" too? The frame I have just bought is a Specialized P series all mountain. I'm no MTB expert and appears I have my work cut out here eesh!! Overall do you think this will work on it?

Here is the link if you want to check it out.

Any comments and advice appreciated.

Mmm Would work but the extra length of the fork to fit the 29er in would make your head angle slaker than a slack thing and would not handle at all well.

I have some 66rs for sale if you want??

What he said!
On an extreme, think of the angle of you fitted a bmx wheel to a set of suspension forks.

But then I guess if you ran a 26 at the back aswell, it would sort the angle out, but decrease BB clearance.

It does depend on the axle to crown measurements on the 29er fork but id imagine it is longer and would do funny things to the handling of the bike. Best to get a 26inch specific fork

Mmmm all makes sorta sense here. I understand the head angle thing, however if you adjust the travel from lets say 140 to 120 will that not compensate? Anycase I will take the advice and look for a 26" fork. Any good condition 120 - 140 forks around please let me know.

Cheers thanks again.

Lowering the travel will make the angle even steeper!
