Hi all,

Marco Aurelio Fontana (italian xco elite biker) recommended me to go for mountain biking to Finale Ligure (Italian Riviera) and Livigno (Alps) I'm looking for good weather and as it's on the coast I'm going there in June for a couple of weeks.
Never heard of that place before but there is plenty of good feedback in internet.

An alternative to Alps. Any takers?

If I could leave the wife and daughter, pack up work, then yea I'll be their Javi...

Just that I have to face the boss at work and he can be a right pain ;-)

By the way, it's close to Monaco. I'll park my Kubistar next to Ferraris hehe.

Last time I went to Morzine I then went onto my where my dad has a villa, which is on lake Magiorre which is about half way between Morzine and Livigno, its quite mountain(y) at Magiorre but didnt ride there much,. it was soo hot..really humid, unlike Morzine which is quite fresh :)

Preffered the food in Italy..cheaper too ! :)

Finished my 2 weeks trip in Finale Ligure and it's so far the best mtb place ever been.
It's very technical and quite rocky. Loads of climbing if you like going uphill, if not then you should arrange uplifts with some local companies. Bike shop at Finalborgo top nocht.

First day it was crazy trying to follow a guy on full helmet and armour, riding a a full sus bike with 170mmm front and don't know at the rear, minion downhill tyres front...and I was with my 120mm harfdtail and 2.2 Mountain kings II. Never pushed my bike to such limits.
The grip when dry excellent but if it rains...under the leaves there's rock and very slippery. I should've taklen protections, anyway. I also rode superb singletrack around the 24h finale course and the views amazing, too. I hope to come back before winter and,, who knows, participate next year in 24h finale!

Now I'm in Dolomiti,

Hey Laser, I'm in Selva Val Gardena, Dolomiti, Dolomites (english) for Sellaronda Hero race. The place is beautiful, weather perfect and the climbs horrible!!

Bike is even fitter than me! Just rear tyre needs changing for more grippy ones. Climbs are very steep in loose gravel Van is fun!! Oh yeeeess!!
