So the cheapest, heaviest bike i could find. It's a Halfords Carrera Banshee, bought for £100. Which i find funny as i have already spent more than it cost just switching a few parts out.

New parts so far:

Brakes
Crank
BB
Front mech
Rear mech
Rear shifter
Cassette
Chain
Bars
Seatpost
Front tyre
Lock on grips
Pedals

Rear shock is next, the peddle bob is killing me.

So my project bikes have changed a hell of a lot from when I first posted about them over a year ago!

My cheap winter bike has turned into more of a "proud to have it as a best bike for a lot of people" bike lol The big changes have been change in forks (to 32 fox now running 130mm travel just because I can), mavic st wheels with hans damp/nobby nick tyres, bar & stem set up and XT brakes.

The meta had changed a hell of a lot from the last photo with the main things being the 36 fox forks, XT brakes, and genial upgrades to the drive chain.

Well after a lot of umming and aarring I ended up doing a frame swop to a banshee spitfire (so the meta frame will be up for sale now). Decided to get a large rather than the medium that I should be so I can run a very short stem for some forward geometry like a mondraker. Have to say I know I have defiantly make the right choice. As part of the up grades to the frame it is now running 1x10 on sram 2200 carbon cranks, renthal carbon bars and soon to have renthal apex stem.
