After a couple of chats with people on rides we have decided to split the rides section into 2 areas

XC trail and AM
and
Jumps Freeride and DH

I am concious of not having loads of sub forums and splitting people off into camps, but I think this will allow those who only check the site a few times a week a cleaner way of seeing if there is stuff going on they might like. Also if someone posts "Danbury ride" up in the jumps freeride downhill forum you know exactly what the ride is about, as many of the locations cater to trail riding as well as freeride stuff.

Hopefully this wont cause any weirdness in how the forum functions but we will have to wait and see. Let us know if you see anything funny going on (not including any pictures of ninja in armour) ;)

If the new forum is all red showing unread topics, just use the "Mark topics read" button on the top right of the page to change them to green.

PS

Let us know if this is a daft idea and ill merge the forums back

Nice one

Cool stuff - seems to be working well.

Another addition, which was requested by Jedi, was a button to see all the updated threads in all forums since your last visit - this has now been added to the bottom of the forum list on the home page titled - View unread posts. It saves you going in and out of forums to view new posts if your feeling lazy.

Click that and it will list them out - it could be in a more prominent position but may well be a distraction if you don’t want to use it.

The grove can be added if someone wants to do me a few words on it as ive never been there. Assuming its OK to point out its general location?

Just an idea, but is it possible to hook up specific forum threads to automatic text message, useful for ride threads incase someone has to bail etc

Bit like Facebook ,

lol nice idea Brad but thats a no go as sms costs £££ and the functionality is tricky to code up - facebook is a £100billion+ tech company - im errrr not.

im figuring most peeps have smart phones these days and if you need to monitor a topic you can subscribe to it and it will ping you when there has been an update... an email rather than sms alert as such.
