So looking for a FR do everything beasty and I have come across two options.

I can get either get

2010 Scott Ransom 20 for £1500 (new) normally £2500

or

2008 Scott Ransom 10 R1350 (second hand) normally about £3350

Really not sure, I dont' want somebody else's problems with the second hand Ransom 10. But its well speced and its carbon.

But the Ransom 20 has Alex wheels, which I am going to break! And the drive train is nothing brilliant. And its heavier.

Opinions please gents.

what would you do?

I don't know any more dude. I know how sad that is. But been looking so long now!

I like the idea of something that can do it all. Free ride/ jumps the works.

Yeh, you right. I been looking at both of them but just cant stand downhill bikes. So heavy and you can ONLY use it to go down a hill.

Very torn right now!

I actually like the look of the SX.

What about this, cant seem to find any reviews.

Comes with a hanger if I decide to put gears on! If I am going to get a DH only rig I may as well do it properly!

I don't think that Sx is suitable for much DH, it's more of a slopestyle bike
Check out the spesh SX trails, can be found at a decent price, trax has one

Some great prices on the links Jon posted, you would be happy with any of those. Bear in mind that they are the entry level models, so can be made lighter as and when you replace components. You really don't want that jump bike you posted as an all-round bike!

Been mulling over the Voltage for ages but just cant get my head around these big heavy rigs.

But went and chatted to my local and they gonna do me a deal on a voltage.

Not sure which one yet, both the 20 and 30 have similar spec, except for the suspension and the brakes, everything else is marginal.

So very keen. But its £1700 vs £1275 not sure if I can justify the extra £425 just yet. This would be an easy call for the 20 if the wheels were better but they the same!!

Now I just gotta test one!

Are the voltages that your looking at the 2010 or 2011 ones?
If they are the 2011 range then get the fr20 due to the new domains that have great reviews
Otherwise get the 2010 fr30 and upgrade the rear shock

If your local shop doesn't have the voltage in to try, then head over to les cycles in canvey, near Danbury as they will have the whole Scott range,

Well Bradley! Les cycles was a good shout. Cause they got a Ransom 20 2010 in stock. Its large though, but according to him they small, so it will be perfect for me!

and its on budget!!!!!

question now is which Voltage to get?

The voltage 20 2010 is £1500 so £200 less than the 2011, not much difference in spec other than the Double crown on the domain.

Hmm, might just have to ride them all!
