Agree Tunstall is same terrain as Thetford (being just down the road from it) so a sandy wet mess will eat a bike components..

And yea Codham park mangled my rear mech last year all that wet mud.. so again needs to dry out.. But it's in mid April so what's the chance of rain then 8-) 8-)

Thats really good! Well done.
Wish i had :lolno:

Tunstall is like thetford just with a few hills and few bomb holes, more entertaining than thetford. its one of the only places that i didnt find the 29er to be an advantage. there is some really nice tight twisty single track.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

I'm a mature ? Student and had a final assignment in yesterday so only done the Sunday ride for two weeks .
My missies will be on maternity leave from 28th so I'm going to commute whilst she is off 20 miles a day so 80 a week :) (I work late Wednesdays)
Hoping to finish not last finished 5th from last in thetford last year and feel in better shape than then.

Top tip, I know there is various ideas about this, but from my experiance, start as close as you can to the front, Dont over do it on the first lap, but do try and get in front of the fat bloke on a orange 5 who will die a slow death by the end of the lap slowing you right up in the single track.

Use a bottle not a camel pack. (creates too much body heat)

Dont put too many layers on, even if it is raining. Over heating will be worse and can cause de-hydration.

Try and drink nothing but water from now until the race. no caffine or beer.

Have a good breakfast 2 hours before the race. Porridge with fruit and syrup is my prefferd brekki for racing.

Oh and Have fun ;)
