VW, funny you should say that about you 3x T6, mine stopped working last week and on closer inspection I thought it was the split insulation where the cable enters the housing. Took the thing apart with the intention of cutting the bad bit out of the cable and resoldering but couldn't find my soldering iron. Put it back together and it's now working! Happy to take a look at your broken one some time.

and this: http://www.lightmalls.com/8-4v-12000mah ... with-pouch just arrived (no duty to pay, took about 2 weeks from Singapore).
Please to say the the light connector fits these standard battery connectors fine. The Solorstorm comes with a screw fitting connector but the bigger battery pack uses the standard female connector, so should work with all my lights.
The light is impressively small, looks like it will make a good helmet light and the battery should give twice the run time of the 4 cell ones.

Rob,

I just noticed what you said above, in my delivered units...

The light and it's included battery pack (I ordered this one http://www.lightmalls.com/solarstorm-x2 ... 50-battery) are the screw type connectors whereas the 8X18650 pack (I seem to have ordered slightly different one to you but same result.. http://www.lightmalls.com/waterproof-8- ... -magic-bag) uses the standard female connector...

So, the 8x pack will fit my previous dome shaped DX lights but It's not a good connection to use with the SolarStorm unit as it doesn't achieve a 'snug' connection and during a 'spirited' ride I'd imagine it would rattle free..

Had you planned on using the 8x with the SolarStorm?

Alas, no.. It's not the circuit connection itself that's not snug, it's how far the male of the light can go into the female of the battery pack (fnar fnar)

I'll upload a pic when I can get my phone to load tapatalk and should show what I mean...

Ev the issue is the 'O' ring on the light connector. You might need to trim it a bit to get the battery connector to push on further. I had the same problem while riding at about 20mph 8 at night and it worked loose, was a fun moment! I might buy some new screw fit connections for the head unit and the battery. I have an old Blackburn x6 light set that has very good connectors so might see if I can bodge that!

Yep, I had looked at the 'O' ring but was wary of modifying it as I was thinking I'd be ruining it for use with the smaller battery pack's connection.. But now that you've said it, I realise that even if I do trim it so that it fits into the 8x pack's female connector further thet that's not an issue with the small pack's connector as it still has the screw cap to keep it secured..

Cheers Dude :-)

Not tried mounting it yet. It's for on my lid though as so light, etc..

Comes with 'O' rings of 2 sizes. Thankfully I already have the butchered head-mount attached to my lid for my other light so think it will go on that (hopefully)
