I have bought a mountain bike to go out with my mate on, he injured himself and hasnt got back into it since, so now im left with a mountain bike and nothing to do with it....

I have been looking everywhere for somewhere to ride, a club or something and cant find anything, i have found meeting points but no info on the club, the experience of the riders and the course route, ect....
I live in Brentwood, near Epping, Danbury, Thorndon.......

Does anyone know of any contacts or clubs?

Thanks,
Freddie

Hi Freddie,

you've found the right spot.... if your not looking for a club but are looking for a ride with some fellow mountain bikers.

we ride regularly @ epping, danbury and all other places mentioned on the riding locations page. if you want to join keep an eye on the rides topics and join one of the rides.

be aware that some rides are more XC oriented and other more into jumping & dropping (not recommended if you are a beginner)

if your more looking for a club which has regular training sessions etc. I really don't know one in the area. there are loads of roady clubs but I am not aware of something similar for people who are more into mud.

Ok i'll keep an eye on it, I am looking to go every saturday or sunday, would like to be part of a club as they have organised rides and would definitely be every weekend.

I am after both, bought a bike that could handle a bit of both, jumps and XC for fitness. As for the beginner bit ive always rode push bikes, i am new to the mountain biking but it wouldnt be too hard to pick up, might cost a rim or too along the way :)

Would you be available on Sunday, you sound like you have complications and I'm tight for time this saturday with other commitments.

Doesn't look like I will be out riding at all this weekend now
But TRAX is aiming for Danbury on Sunday
If not, the majority of riders at Danbury are a friendly bunch and wont mind you joining up with them

Hi Freddie

As you live in Brentwood.
These are not clubs just ride who like to ride.

Small group leaves kart track at 9:00 most Saturdays. They mostly of ride in miles then Jumps.
Sunday group a large number about 15 - 20 riders 10:30 meet same place again this group is not jumpers if that there right term :D

Post code: CM13 3DP - Karting Car Park

I couldn't keep up with the Sunday group.
I pop over there myself in a small group or by myself, Don't care if this looks as a loner I'm riding for my self anyway.
