It's in Coed Y Brenin on the 28th/29th April. I'm doing it and wondered if any of you chaps are?

Did OK. Came about mid pack I think. Loads of people dropped out due to the weather. It was freezing cold. Could hardly hold onto the bars at times when whipping down the rocky sections. Only went over the bars once. Just happy to finish it unscathed. More fitness required. Highlighted a need to practice flat out speed (for 7-8 mins) more often.

Really good event to do if you like Dh speed and mild competition but don't fancy a full bore XC race.

Am doing the last two (Eastridge 4-5th aug and DyFi 8-9th Sep) if anyone is interested in training for it.

Photos to follow.

Sounds good, me and Rob met the organisers at Afan last year and wanted to do one of these at some point.
Cant do either of those dates unfortunately so looks like next year for me.

Be good to see the photos :)

Great pics. :)

Must get to cyb one day...

Did the race run on existing trails at CYB? How technical were they, rollable? drops? doubles?

I'll let you know when we next go :) Most was on the normal trails with a few extensions thrown in. All was rollable but obviously gets pretty technical at speed. Wouldn't like to have been a novice down there. Glad I pre rode it all as there were a couple of blind leaps of faith that took me by surprise at first.

Nice dude... you have a most excellent "race face"

The event looks like a lot of fun... might do one later in the year.. Chris144 mentioned it to me the other day

If you do the Eastridge one my parents live down the road in Shrewsbury. Travel, accommodation and a night out to boot - sorted! You will need to sign up pretty quickly. Think its selling out.
