I know it's a little far in advance but this event fills up pretty quickly as it's quite popular.
You can book your place from 1st April at www.exmoorexplorer.com.

It a 25 or 35 mile route across Exmoor. There's usually some very good stuff there and some killer climbs (if that's you kind of thing). I've ridden all but one of the events now.
There is camping at the start (or other accommodation in nearby places like Minehead or Williton) together with a nearby pub and 'Pasta party'. Entry is normally £20 and slightly cheaper for the ladies.
Would be good to do it as a group if a few are up for it. Nearby is the Quantocks (Triscombe plus load of other XC/DH runs) and it's only 2 hours to places like Afan if you want to make a weekend of it.

Video of last year (v. wet!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2cl8slHaUY

Any questions, just ask.

You can camp at the start point as well, which is Wheddon Cross. Nothing fancy, it's the village cricket field so have toilets and showers and the pub. There is a stop half way round the route where you can stuff yourself with free tea and cake (no bacon butties I'm afraid) and this is where the longer router start from and return before going back to the start. The route changes every year.

Arse! I looked at the website, watched some triscombe vids, thought about cakes, decided to opt for the shorter distance and realised i cant do that date. :( Sorry, Eccles.

:) no probs. Me and my brother have entered. Don't really care about the olympics after losing out on the crappy ticket ballot.

Well must be popular as they've filled up already! If only they could forecast the weather that far ahead!

Did this today, was an excellent 28 mile ride, very muddy! http://app.strava.com/rides/16655359 Roughly 500 riders and came in about 25th in 3hrs 57 minutes! Bike was excellent, 4000ft of climbing so my legs are pretty tired. Who's up for the challenge next year?

I've done all but 1. About 10 in total so yes, it's an annual ritual now! Just got to get some of you lot to do it too.
