Any more for any more on this? I was looking at the recent IMB and The One jacket looked alright:

http://www.imbikemag.com/issue21/?page=127

I thinking along the lines of:

    - 42-44 Chest
    - Generous back to cover thy a***
    - Long arm cut
    - Chest pocket
    - Hood
    - Waterproof

I had a Gore paclite, but even after washing in Nikwax or Grangers it totally lost it's protection and annoyingly the zip cover kept folding over the opposite way, exposing the zip. I have an Altura waterproof, but it has short arms and back, not ideal for trail riding.

Any more tried and tested jackets?

That looks smart

the only concern would be the lack of pit vents would only really suit quite cold days

I have an Altura Mayhem which is excellent. (http://www.merlincycles.com/bike-shop/a ... acket.html)

It seems to fit all your criteria including long arms +back and the hood (which you can remove) but is a bit over the £50 quid budget at £90.

I wash it in Nikwax and it has stayed waterproof.

Nice one. Pity they aren't on CRC as I have a £10 voucher. I do like the Royal Alpine but that is at £99. That might not be too generous on the back cut though....Altura it will be most probably.

I have the green one. It's a bit lairy, but then, I have a purple bike with gold wheels, so who cares! The fit is definitely on the roomy side, so if you are between 2 sizes I'd go for the smaller one. Plenty of room for 2 layers underneath.

£87.84 on Amazon:

Bought from Fawkes Cycles. Ok, the delivery might not be as rapid, but the price is nice.

Hi, I bought a waterproof cycling jacket from decathlon. Paid about £35. It has a rollupable arse protector, taped seams, zip vents and pockets. I've had it for a year and no problems. Absolute bargain! :D
