Not been feeling to clever recently, cold&fever so i throught i would give the bike a once over!degreasing the chain & noticed the right pedal felt quite rough on inspection found the seal has dislodged itself from the pedal body??? so removed the axle & found it quite excessively worn were the seal wasn't doing its job sealing out all the mud, crud etc!so over to CRC with a warrranty form then!

My spank spike pedal done a similar thing after only 3 months the axle had worn badly and had about 4mm side to side play on it . Sent back to CRC and they refunded them as they had no others in stock

Interesting - I have vaults and love em, a) super quality b) for those of us bigger chaps they are the widest pedal I have found supporting my size 13 brilliantly.

I didn't think I had a problem but last ride had noticed the rubber ring standing proud like your picture so will def check it out to see if it is a bigger issue like yours was.

I've had superstars on mine for over a year and there the best I've ever had. Some maintenance wouldn't go amiss sometimes.....

Have superstar and they use a similar spindle as shown in pictures. Been faultless and have also been well used in ales and local trails... no issues so far with these.. and even have the pin tattoo on my calfs to prove

Ok right stripped down the left pedal to check the end bearing, looked all good so tapped the end bearing back into place on the right pedal using a rubber mallet, cleaned both axles using scotchbrite&regreased, refitted job done, just can't see how the end bearing could move when the 8mm axle nut is tight???any ideas?
