Anyone know if there are any older groups of riders riding BMX in Essex (By older I mean 30+). I knew I shouldn't have started watching xgames.

Paul Batemen from Rayleigh rides and most of the Hadleigh guys seem to have one as well but not sure they'd be xgames material...

If you go to most skate parks before mid day they are nearly always empty. Too early for teenagers! I used to go to the one ones in Colchester with my little boy so a) I didn't look like a tit, being a more more mature gentleman on a BMX (36) and b) so my 5 year old doesn't get wiped out by the brakeless teens.

Once you have a few skills i.e... you can manual and fakie a couple of meters without falling off you'll be a good as 90% of the nippers anyway.

That all said, I've sold my BMX. Too many bikes, not enough time to ride them all!

Might well have to ask if i can add a bmx session to the ride calender :) It's weird when I rode BMX as a kid I don't remember seeing anyone over about 20 but that being said Andy Ruffle was only about 20 then lol so I guess there wasn't really an older generation of riders back then
