Hi all,

I'm thinking of converting my bike from triple to single chainring.
I would keep the original Shimano Deore XT crankset, removing all chainrings and putting a specific one.
At the rear, I would change the derailleur with a shorter one but I'm thinking to keep the original cassette (the bike is new, so no problems of using old stuff with new stuff).

My problem is:
I've just started with "serious" cycling so don't know exactly what parts I should buy and also l don't have all the necessary tools.
I would need someone I can trust not only for the work, but for choosing the most suitable parts as well.
I'm a bit scared about going to an unreliable London shop as I could spend a crazy amount of money (they would want me to buy their components I suppose).
Can anyone recommend a bike shop or mechanic in the South London area that I can trust? I live in Surrey Quays and it would be good for me to find something south of the Thames...
Of course if there's someone in this forum who is an expert and can do the job, I'm happy to pay him-her.

Thank you!

Thank you, I'll have a look later.
Is that not in North London anyway? During the week it's a bit difficult for me to cycle "far" from South London

Grays looks a bit far to be honest - I forgot to say that I don't have a car so I would need to cycle....and I don't think I can jump on trains with the bike at peak time (which is the only time I'm free). I was looking for a place/someone that I can reach cycling if possible

Im in south london and always take my bike to my local at Balfe's Bikes. They have a few shops dotted round in East Dulwich, Kennington and Streatham.
