Massive drainage ditches to jump over and loads of concrete tunnels to go through...

And yet the cost is still about 7 million :), maybe they could get some dodgy travellers instead ?

Had an email news letter from the Hadleigh country park. The car parking has still not been sorted yet and will be not sorted until next year at the earliest...

So much for the legacy and all.... pffffffft that went out ages ago....

Are they smoking crack?.......tragic........ imagine what level of bike park goodness could have been built in place of this cyclocross track.

I wouldnt say hard but yes unforgiving due to the imported rocks everywhere, Dirt mag and its riders had a feature on it and concluded it was quite tame for those used to downhill.

It's cool there there have been a few races and various groups/clubs have had a bash on it, but the fact there have been a quite a few injuries is a bit worrying, Im sure many that have been injured were not upto the black run standard that people were supposed to be, well at least on the training sessions.

I'm not sure that people really know aht they want there, after all the majority of tracks/run/parks built elsewhere in the uk/world to tend to be more jump/gravity orientated and without endless imported rocks everywhere.

The 'its too dangerous' line has been trotted out from about 2 years before the Olympics when the track was finished but lay unused apart from a few sneaky runs and now 2 years later....still mainly unused. On the plus side it has enthused some local action..HMTB club and the Velo shop for example.

Bloody hurry up........:)

Danger makes it worth riding, I don't want to ride a f'ing footpath. I guess it'll turn into a family only venue once the challenging bits are gone, what's wrong with chicken lines warning signs and clear info, like every other trail centre in the land?

I was under the impression it wasnt going to be made overly santized due to comments made when this was first suggested, personally id perhaps move some jagged rocks likely to cause injury and add more berms, jumps, drops perhaps some pump track features.

Chicken lines will be the main route. You'll need to make s conscious decision to hit a feature. They won't be sanitised they are building a pump track and skill section. Not sure what's in that though. Work has started but it's only the preliminary work for site access etc for the builders.

Hope it turns out well... I've just got a bit cynical about the whole thing as it taken so long.
