Ello all, i am a fat bloke in south essex returning to biking after too many pies and too many years out of the saddle
i am currently trying to get my fitness back after doing my back in a couple of years ago, and also trying to build up my confidence as well
i am very slow at the moment but hopefully things will improve, and i look forward to hitting the trails with some of you and having a laugh

18 miles? You're fitter than most of us!

I used to be a lot like you but now I'm only me

Ahhh pyro welcome, you are indeed slow but we can work on that but walking up hills don't count on the total miles cycled lol. As for your brother.....well if he stopped following me then he wouldnt break his bike so much.

Hi Pyro I'm not too far from you in South Hornchurch. I didn't realise there were hills over the marshes lol. A trail you could try is from the marshes up to Rainham and then on to Ingrebourne country park which goes all the way to Upminster. Not technical in any way apart from bits of the cycle track at Ingrebourne but a good long ride. Thorndon would also be a good choice thats close to you.
GT Dave also hails from Ockendon.

Cheers for the advice greg, there are hardly any hills in the marshes lol, the only one we hit was purfleet road aveley going back up from the a1306 into the village
so from rainham go up romford road and pick up the ingrebourne country park from there? i think i know where you mean, lol
i know thames chase goes on for miles, and would be a nice ride out, but quite easy i guess
i want to hit thorndon once my fitness and confidence improve, hopefully not too long :)
