Marzocchi had a 'wobble' when they switch production to Suntour (hardly surprising). The Italian made forks with the open oil bath were always plush and dead easy to service. They were way ahead of Rockshox until RS got bought by SRAM. Elastomer Indy C's were my introduction to suspension, followed by spring Judy T's, both were awful. Then Marzocchi MX, which was pretty much fit and forget. Easy to adjust. The only annoyance was the internal rebound adjustment with a long 5mm hex key. They also had seals that worked.

Questions was aimed at mlarge though, you've dismissed the 2014 fork and shock as 'not top end' and the company as 'having a bad rep'. So what marz forks have you owned and what year?

That is massive spec for the price, marzo had bad years in 08/09 when they switched production to the east but then got baught by tenecco and since 2010 have probably been one of the most reliable around, plus they offer a 3 year warranty which windwave (the uk distributor) are incredibly good with. plus the service intervals are ridiculous compared RS and especially fox.

Most manufacturers who have bought out a cheaper model do tend to use Marzocchi forks (and then perhaps Fox on their top end model), I havnt really ridden enough diff makes to comment on which are the best but many WC DH riders do use the newer Marzocchi models, and Ill certainly comment that the older italian models are very easy to service and almost a fit and forget, the hours listed for Fox forks are stupidly low, and I suspect would bankrupt many riders if they had it done professionally.

Nice bike on paper and Dirt seem to like them too. I've been eying it up after rattling my bones to the core at Antur Stiniog last weekend and deciding I can't get by with just a hard tail! They have some discounts on 2013 bikes already too.

I agree that the old Marzocci's are great - still have a set of 2003 150mm Z3's on my bike, fit and forget - they just keep going. 8-)
