What's the course like, looking at the times 30 min seem to be average for the good ones (per lap)

HI,
Hardtails racing ralph tyres on most bikes.
If you are good and fit they were flying some only did 2/3 hours and done 4 laps/five . personnally I think that if they pack it in before the 4 hours they should be non finishers .
the other side of it I surpose is the most in four hours .
The course is in a different part round two but good course with lots of everything. Flat lad in Suffolk and norfolk but good use of the slopes and hilly bits.
Woods and flowing beams and single track.
Pretty good surface dirt , not clay or crap that was in Brentwood.
But as I said the weather is changing .
Look at the youtube and it does give a fair idea of start and race in gneral.
MUST bring own drink as nothing there at all.

Thanks bob. Looked at the vids and looks pretty flat.
I have full suspension bike but also have a lightweight non suspension bike that may be ideal, just need to source some v brake rims for it.
I'll have a crack at the 4 hr one, I'll put the entry in tonight.

Suspension not a problem as long as you can lock out the rear .
It has afew bumpy bits and hill climbs.
if you are up for fun I am sure as long as it is not a dh bike it will do.
Might have some wheels with the old type rims .
You need help let me know and I will try and assist.

I'm in Witham bob. Not far from Chelmsford and Danbury. May have some rims sorted from another guy on here.
Unfortunately my Kona kikapu has the older air fox unit and is only adjustable on the air pressure. The old Marin I'm defiantly quicker on the flat and climbs, but useless down hill over wet tree roots, I usually go in a deprecate direction from the bike

It'll be my first race in 30 years, so just finishing and having fun would be a start

Cheers

Sounds like we will be the bottle neck.
They pass me then have you in front as well. Slow the field get better placing.
Dont forget the drink you need a energy boost for sure.
I have a picknic as well .
(I am begining to be reckopnised for my strange style of preparing and outfit. )
I dont bounce as good as I used to.
Good fun some of the single track is quick and there was a hill that was dam fast with ruts in it so one false move and you were ibn the rut and on your bum.
I did not understand what happened as I had my eyes shut .
You will enjoy it.
What transport have you.
I put my bike inside and also have a outside bike rack.
I could take you if you like.

Not sure about the thetford one, the GF. Was talking about coming as well to do the feed station ( she may do others if asked nicely ) if she comes then the dog will go, mmm about as unfriendly as can be, I'll see what she's doing, I usually use my small work van with a rear rack.
The Army one looks good, I'll look at it when I get in from work
Where are you based Bob

Cheers

Rainham.
I would love to take the dogs.
Lovelly place for them to have a run lots of smells around.
Lucky to get a feeder.
I loose a lot of time swapping bottles and getting the up and go again.
The feed stn is before the finish and shows up on the second lap.
must be loved for some one to stand around for 4hours .
