Was gonna tackle the centenary circle on the cross bike at the weekend in prep for some winter cross racing.Has anyone done it? Is it gonna be boring as hell? Am I better off just whacking it down some trails in Epping instead?

I have once only but few parts are best avoided, specially after this rain we have had. I reckon it will be pretty muddy in places. I have marked in red the parts were it was either too overgrown and thorny or way too muddy (the long stretch). It was way dryer then so imagine now.

You can avoid the short red bit bu staying on the tarmac. The trail joins the road at the farmhouse. I dont think you can avoid the long one unless you stay on the road and ride through Gallywood instead. Maybe not a bad idea.

Few tricky bits on the north side around Broomfield but not as bad as these 2 I mention.

I was meant to do it again as it would have been quicker knowing where I am going but I just did not get the chance. I can join you for this but as it can only be done during daytime anyway I am not sure I have a free Sunday am any time soon.

This looks an interesting days ride.
If it's as wet as you say Remi may be good for next spring???

Would be one to tick off, even if it's not an interesting ride.

How many miles is it??

Cheers, i might give it a go on the crosser on sunday. Dont think from the looks of where it goes itll be that much fun on the mtb. May lack somewht in flow! unless you count the puddles as flow, which I guess you could do!

Yeah, not a bad idea. Its a lot easier to see the trails on OS map. I used the OS online version to put few changes together so I did not have to ride through Beaulieu Park. Did not have the Garmin back then.
