Hi all, I've never ridden in Wales before. As I have two days off in a row I'm considering going there.
I'd like to ride as many hours as possible, up and down. Keeping an eye on the forecast, though.

Found out Bike Park Wales is only gravity trails. Which trails / bike parks should I ride there?

There is one called Dragons back at Coed - Y Brenin, any good?

Or just find some long distance natural stuff to download to the gps...

Any suggestions welcome

Thanks

You have two options for rideing wales with lots of miles, north or south but not both. If you go north your best bet is to stay at coed-y-brenin with its 5-6 different trails and try to do as many as possible there over the two days (there is even a few more trail centers that you could do on the way like llangdela and Cannock chace on route). You could always do Snowdon as well. If you go south your best bet would be to aim for Afan as a base (with 4-5 different trails) but aim to ride at one of the other centers as well (forest of dean, cwm carn (best bet) and brectha a bit further up the m4).

As I know how mad you are I would say north would be your best bet, coed-y-brenin is good but is more xc than trail as there is longer routes but not as technical as it could be at times.

I haven't rode S.Wales yet, but did go to Coed y Brenin 2 weeks ago for a long weekend. Rode Friday/Saturday there then hit LLandegla on Sunday. Excellent weekend and would very much suggest it to anyone. You will love some of those hills mate, especially the ones with uphill rock gardens in them  I will upload a couple of vids when my craptop stops playing up. Weather was surprisingly good and the trails didn't hold much water from the rain we did have.

That's your style Javier!

Afan has 150k of trails you can link together for some epic loops.

Thanks for the suggestions. It looks like CyB is the best bet. Jon, that last one linking Cwmcarn to Afan is mental!

I had read about that before their attempt but never knew how they did it in the end. Found the STRAVA activity and sounds liuke a lot of fun! Not this weekend, the weather is not the best for a long day in the saddle
