VW-surfbum, the foot in the last 3 months has returned to normal, full use, thank-you for asking.

I'm hoping to get a lot more rides in this year.

The problem with BB bearings is that they are non standard and don't usually appear in industrial bearing catalogues, I've been down this road, but you might strike lucky.

Right, a little update.

After a good tip off from spencer, i popped to Eriks in BazVegas and purchased 4 lots of bearings. really nice people and super helpful. £6+vat per bearing. fitted them last night and was chuckling to myself at how easy it was right up until i fitted the crankset.
Obviously i had the plastic inset for the drive side but the metal insert on the no drive side i hadnt removed from the old bearing. now this little jobby is 1mm thick and interference fit. in my desperation to get for a ride i didnt get it out and fitted my brand new sram ones, so tonight i'm going to get that little collar out or find some way of getting one.

fitted with both plastic inserts, forgot the metal one.

Last update, got the old spacers out of the old bearings.
took a little swearing to get back into the new ones though.
now got two set of spares, although i've put the blue one in the Yeti.
