Well I'm glad I didn't rush out and buy a GoPro 2 the other week as the GoPro 3 has just been released.

I'm unsure if I should buy the GoPro 3 or get a GoPro 2 cheaper than what I was going to pay. I see the GoPro 3 comes with the wi-fi built in which is a better idea.

The wifi bit takes away its achillies heal as now you can set up the angles prior to getting home

Nah, will just have to deal with those replacement parts when they crop up.

That bit is worth about £60 on it's own isn't it.

Hmmmm, i can see the attraction of the wifi. Thats it really!
the original gopro had a 5mp camera, and the 2 has 11mp. The 3 has a whopping extra 1mp :wtf: REALLY!!
Is it worth it  I have the gp2 BUT if i was going to buy a newer camera it would be the contour. As the gp3 really dose not have that much extra to offer.

I've not really looked into the contour cameras.

I was going to buy a brand new GoPro 2 but I think the GoPro 3 is about the same price. Will have a look at the Contour as well.

Looks very prosumer this one - Professional 4k Cinema 12 fps / 2.7k cinema 30 fps / 1440p 48 fps / 1080p 60 fps / 960p 100 fps

960p @ 100 fps is very cool. You will need a big fast memory card for some of that stuff. I got through 32gb in 5 days holiday this year.

$399 which will be £325-350 minimum over here. A lot more than you can get 2s for currently (£200)

This is bad ass - Protune Mode, allows to shoot photos while recording video and more.

I think with the amount of stuff they have thrown in including the remote its good value even at £350

Actually, looking at the videos on the GoPro website, the White is the same at the HD Hero, the Silver is the same as the HD Hero 2, the the black is the new HD Hero 3.

The bonus is they all have wi-fi built in. The Black is too much money so the silver would prob be the one I'd go for.
